Privacy Policy
Mashup Singapore Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter "the Company") recognizes that the protection of personal information is an important responsibility, and complies with the applicable laws, regulations and guidelines. The Company will properly handle the entrusted personal information and incessantly pay close attention to its secure management. This Privacy Policy applies to all services provided by the Company.
1. Definition of Personal Information
"Personal Information" refers to any information such as name, age, phone number, or e-mail address, that could be used to identify or otherwise be linked to the identification of a specific individual.
2. Acquisition of Personal Information and Specification of the Purpose of Use
The Company shall acquire the customers' personal information through legal and fair means, and use it for the following purposes.
a) To confirm information whenever the customer submits their application, withdrawal from or modification of registration to the Company's services.
b) To contact the customer.
c) To conduct surveys for service improvement or development of new services, as well as to send the customer relevant information deemed to be of their interest.
d) To confirm to the person the contents of their inquiry.
e) To provide the customer with all of the Company's services or any other related services, as well as to manage current customers.
f) To aggregate as statistical data to the extent that it cannot be identified with a specific person.
g) To prevent its use in a way that violates the terms of use of the Company's services.
3. Disclosure and Provision of Personal Information
The Company shall not disclose nor provide personal information to third parties, except under the following circumstances.
a) When the Company outsources a part of its operations.
b) When producing media materials needed for the Company's sales activities.
c) When required by laws and regulations. Moreover, when the Company outsources a part of its operations, the Company shall bear responsibility for ensuring that the company entrusted with said operations will properly protect the personal information. The Company shall also use statistical results that do not allow the individual identification in media materials. The Company shall respond without any delay whenever a customer requests the disclosure of their personal information.
4. Restrictions on the Use of Personal Information
The Company shall not handle personal information without obtaining the prior consent of the person, beyond the scope necessary for the achievement of the purpose of use. Neither a merger or for any other reasons shall determine the Company to handle personal information whatsoever, without obtaining the prior consent of the person, beyond the scope necessary for the achievement of the purpose of use before the succession. Provided, however, that the foregoing shall not apply in the following cases.
a) If required by laws.
b) If it is necessary for the protection of the life, body or property of an individual when it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person.
c) If it is necessary to improve public hygiene or to promote the sound growth of children when it is difficult to obtain consent of the person.
d) If, in performing operations prescribed by laws and regulations, the collaboration with national institutions or local authorities, or any other party entrusted to perform such operations is necessary, and obtaining the consent of the person is likely to obstruct the execution of said operations.
5. Proper Acquisition of Personal Information
The Company shall not acquire personal information through wrongful means against the customer's intention, but only through legal and fair means. If personal information is acquired indirectly, the Company shall confirm whether the source of said information has properly obtained it from the person.
6. Notification of the Purpose of Use When Acquiring Personal Information
When acquiring personal information, the Company shall publicly announce beforehand the purpose of use. Additionally, whenever changes have been made to said purpose, the Company shall notify or publicly announce the customer and obtain their consent.
7. Secure Management of Personal Information and Supervision of Employees
The Company shall clarify the internal regulations for the handling of personal information to its employees, and supervise them to ensure that the personal information is being handled appropriately.
8. Supervision of Outsourced Contractors
When the Company outsources part or all of its personal information handling, the Company shall conclude a non-disclosure agreement with the outsourced contractor. In such case, the Company shall also require agreement on the conditions it stipulates, and shall carry out the necessary and appropriate supervision of the outsourced contractor.
9. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
The Company, in principle, does not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the person. The Company shall provide such information only when the person gives their consent upon prior notification of the destination and content of the information to be shared. Provided, however, that the foregoing shall not apply in the following cases.
a) If required by laws.
b) If it is necessary for the protection of the life, body or property of an individual when it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person.
c) If it is necessary to improve public hygiene or to promote the sound growth of children when it is difficult to obtain consent of the person.
d) If it is necessary to operations prescribed by laws and regulations and performed by national institutions or local authorities, or any other party entrusted to perform such operations, and otherwise it is likely to obstruct the execution of said operations.
10. Procedures for Correction and Suspension of the Use of Personal Information
The Company shall respond in a reasonable period of time to any request the customer makes for the correction, addition, deletion, or suspension/cease of the use of their personal information.
11. Disclaimers
The Company shall not be held responsible in any way for the acquisition of personal information by third parties under the following cases.
a) If the customer shares their personal information to third parties through the Company's service features or any other means.
b) If the customer is identified through the information they had entered on the Company's web service.
12. Use of Cookies
a) Some information, including customers' cookies, ads they have seen and pages they have visited, are automatically registered from customers' browser onto our server whenever they use the Company's service or visit a web page.
b) The Company may use the customer's information, such as the pages they have visited and ads they have seen, the usage time zone, method of use, or their browser environment, in order to develop new services and features, as well as to provide them with more suitable services and content for ads.
c) The Company may analyze the customer's information or extract it for questionnaires backing said analysis, in order to determine whether the posting or supply of optimum ads, information and services by information sources, service sources and advertisers is effective and eventually provide them to the customer. Any information that can identify an individual shall not be included in the results of the analysis.
d) The Company may outsource to third parties the disclosure and delivery of a part of the ads posted on the Company's website. If these third parties have cookies enabled, said information shall be registered onto their browsers and managed under their own privacy policy.
e) Customers can set their browser to approve or reject the use of cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if necessary, customers may choose not to accept them. However, this may prevent customers from properly using some of the Company's services, or disable their ad preferences that require cookies.
